Kitchen: This kitchen was created by removing the partitions from five original spaces in this part of the house. The kitchen, mud room, and hearth room are completely new, with hardwood floors and finishes chosen to blend with the original finishes in the rest of the house. The kitchen and pantry cabinets were built by a local artisan, Eric Oehler, and wrapped in custom trims and moldings onsite.

The dining room and family room spaces were left as originally built. Crown molding was added to structural beams in the dining room to create a coffered effect. The hardwoods in the entire house were refinished.

Master Suite: The new master bath was created by combining two closets and an original bath. The cabinetry was made by the same artisan who built the kitchen cabinetry. The floor tile is a marble mosaic basket weave and the shower walls are a crackled ceramic tile in a Flemish bond pattern. The views are from the balcony, which is accessed through French doors in the vestibule of the closet area. Walls were moved and reconfigured in the closet area and the hardwoods were laced in and refinished.
